Energy Transfer provides update on work in West Whiteland Township

Feb. 7, 2019 — We know there is a great deal of interest in our ongoing work in West Whiteland Township, so we would like to take this opportunity to provide an update.

First, we would like to reconfirm that when the subsidence feature appeared on Lisa Drive on January 20, the integrity of the Mariner East 1 pipeline was never at risk and the surrounding area remained safe and secure. However, out of an abundance of caution, we took several precautionary actions including quickly shutting down the line. The integrity tests and geophysical surveys we performed last week have further confirmed that the Mariner East 1 pipeline is stable and safe to operate.

At this time, we continue to work alongside the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission’s Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement and its consultants to conclude the investigation of the area.

This week, we will be injecting grout into the soil as an additional measure to restore the area. Grouting activities are expected to last for approximately 7-14 days; however, the work duration will be contingent on weather and other outside factors.

During this time, we will try to minimize the number of personal vehicles on site and will continue to monitor the security of the work area on a 24/7 basis. We thank you for your understanding as we complete the work on Lisa Drive.

If you have any questions, please call 800-786-2255.
