Energy Transfer statement regarding Shoen Road – Aug. 14 | Energy Transfer

We want to address the false claims that our work at Shoen Road has impacted a drinking water aquifer. This claim is being made by citizens who are not experts in this area and are not fully informed on our construction or mitigation practices. Both the DEP and local water supplier, Aqua Pennsylvania, have confirmed that we have not impacted drinking water.

Groundwater management is an expected part of any construction project, which is why we have plans in place within our DEP permits. We are following our approved permit plans, including various components on how to address groundwater, which can be exacerbated during storms. We are in constant communication with the DEP and they are making daily visits to our construction sites.

We will continue to work with the DEP and third-party experts on this issue, and to maintain our erosion and sedimentation controls per our permits.
